Dreamcatchers in action.

Our Dreamcatchers are little kids doing BIG things! Aged 5-12, Dreamcatchers learn about social issues from hunger and poverty to clean water and climate change through story-telling and arts-based service projects, cultivating their natural empathy for other children (and for the earth!) and empowering them to make a difference.

Inclusion & empathy.

Why do people emigrate to the United States? What makes them leave their home for an often difficult and dangerous journey? That’s what our Dreamcatchers learned about for their October service project. They heard the story of Alfredo, a young boy who journeyed primarily on foot with his father from Mexico to Texas, leaving his mother and siblings behind and entering a new world where he didn’t speak the language or have any friends.

Empathy in action.

How would they feel if they had to leave their family? And what would it be like if they had no one to talk to in their classroom? What would make them feel better? How could they help kids like Alfredo?

With their empathy ignited, our energetic Dreamcatchers decorated art books and bookmarks with positive messages to donate to kids just like Alfredo, living at the Mexico/US border in Texas.

Kids helping kids.

Our pint-size activists then had the chance to pack up necessities, treats and art supplies into care kits. The best part? They also donated their own toys and books to add to the care kits. 100 care kits in total!

Lemonade for a Cause!

Meanwhile, Junior Ambassador Lucia Bella set up her lemonade stand (with some vegan pumpkin muffins, too!) to raise money to further support this initiative.
